NDF visits CJ Hospital, Giddu Hyderabad

NAWABSHAH: (23-09-2018) NDF delegation led by Mr. Abid Lashari, Ms. Saira Lashari & Ms. Aqsa Kalhoro visited Sir Cowasji Jehangir Institute of Psychiatry Mental Hospital Hyderabad (Giddu Bandar) (Hyderabad). Dr. Aatir welcomed the guests & briefed about the CJIP that as the academic ward of Sir CJ Institute of Psychiatry, we have been giving our services to the community since 2001. We have initiated a number of community welfare projects like OPDs at Civil Hospital Hyderabad & Jamshoro. A Psychiatric Emergency Unit to provide emergency services, Community camps for both adults and children accross the province and now we have started to specialized clinics namely, Child Psychiatric Clinic & Nicotine Cessation Clinic. We have organized 3 national conferences at Hyderabad for mental health promotion. At present we are working on project on ADHD children and we have 75 ADHD children, enrolled in our program at present. He further said that they are  planing to initiate a new project for the community i.e. “Sindh School Mental Health Program”. We plan to visit in different Govt. and Private Schools to screen children for Mental Health Issues and to aware, educate and train teachers to identify and cope with the challenging children. Recently, cases of child abuse have been reported in Pakistan widely, we plan to talk about child abuse on every platform and aware our children to protect themselves against it. As your organization i.e. NDF, is working for the similar cause, I, on behalf of the Dept. of Psychiatry, formally invite you organization for a collaboration in Child Mental Health related projects. Mr. Abid Lashari seconded the offer & accepted to work as Joint venture in Sindh. He said that NDF believes in Service to Humanity & collaboration with different stakeholders to bring some change in their lives.
